Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions.

 What is a domain name?
This is the address of your website, such as www.yourcompany.co.uk . Using this address enables people to view your site.

Where will my site (all the text and images) physically be stored?
It will be stored on a powerful computer called a server. Anybody viewing your website will actually be accessing the server.

How involved can we be in developing the site?
You are the key to a successful website. We can only produce an effective site once we fully understand your needs. That's why we spend time listening and talking with you.

Do I have to provide anything?
Any logo, colour scheme or style your company has should be mirrored in your site. A good website works most effectively when it has a clear visual link to the current 'look' of your company. So we'll need to see what other materials you have produced, especially company brochures if you have them.

I am a small business, and I don't have a logo or brochure.
Not a problem. We can design a logo and look for your company for a very small charge.

Are there any limits to how many pages my site can have?
No. There will be enough room on the Server to hold a huge amount of information.

What do you class as a 'page' in website terms?
We assume approximately two or three computer screens of information placed one on top of the other, or the equivalent of an A4 sheet of paper.

What can I put on my website?
Think of the Internet as your advertising dreams come true, but at a fraction of the cost.

To make it really work for you, you can put your company's catalogue on the web in full colour, including pictures, descriptions and prices. You can even offer online ordering.

A response form or questionnaire on your site will generate a mailing list and give you precious marketing information about who is visiting your site and why.

How will people find my site?
First and foremost, tell people your website address. Use traditional advertising methods to do this, and also add your website address to any printed material you have. Wherever your phone number appears, your web address should also be there.

In addition, we will add your website to all the top search engines, so people can trace you, even if they don't know your web address.

 What is a search engine?
These are sites on the web which, once you have typed in some key words, will give you a list of all the websites that match that description.

How much of my time is required to put together a site?
We will need to hear your ideas for the site, and what you want it to contain. Then it's over to Loopholes to lay out the pages, put the copy in place and design the graphics, backgrounds and animation.

Once we have created an initial layout, we show it to you for your reaction. We continue with this process until you're happy. Normally, you will see the site design two or three times before it is finished.

 What is my first step?
Your first step is to contact Loopholes. We'll arrange to meet you or call you to discuss how a website will work for your company.

In most cases we will be able to get your site designed and on the web in no time at all.
